FAQs

E-Bikes generate lots of curiosity and questions.
Here are some of the most popular:

  • A rental day is defined as a single 8 hour period, not 24 hours- unless you rent for multiple days. If you need an early pick-up or late drop-off for full-day rentals, let us know and we will work with you. {We are in the process of developing rental “windows” that will work best for the majority.}

Special pick-up and drop-off times can be arranged.

  • Class 1 bikes require the operator to pedal. (Quietkat is currently the only class 1 e-bike we carry.)

Class 2 bikes pedaling is optional up to 20 mph.

Class 3 bikes pedaling is optional up to 25 mph.

(If you would like to ride more than 20 miles without pedaling considering the additional battery.

  • Realistically one can expect 20-50 miles. 20 if throttle only.

    This dependent on many factors

    1. How much you assist with pedaling.

    2. What power assist you pedal with (typical settings 1-5)

    3. Surface conditions, pavement vs sand. Flat terrain vs hilly.

    4. Mid drive bikes (not available to rent) require proper gear selection to ensure the maximum distance is achieved. (Himiway D5 & D7s are our mid drive bikes)

    5. Riding the bike aggressively with maximum throttle only will significantly shorten the distance you will travel and the fun you have.

  • It is still a bicycle that can be pedaled. Remember E-Bikes weight significantly more and pedaling without power is noticeably more difficult. Being consciously aware of the battery level via display is important to get most out of your bike rental. The bikes are provided fully charged.

  • Yes, having the bikes back within the rental agreement is still required. Secure and safe transportation is your responsibility.

E-Bike hitches available to rent with bikes.

  • Typically cleaning prior to returning is not required. Exceptionally dirt / muddy bikes are required to be cleaned by the renter. A cleaning fee of $10.00 will be charge for bike returned excessively dirty.

  • Call and or text (315) 949-1668. Every effort will be made to get you a replacement bike.

Remember cell coverage in the Adirondacks can be hit and miss at times. It will be your responsibility to get the bike to a road, trail head or similar. We carry new, well made and maintained electric bikes the chances of something going wrong is unlikely. Riding outside of ones capabilities will more likely potential issues. YOU WILL NEVER BE BILLED FOR THE TIME WAITNG FOR A REPLACEMENT BIKE.

  • Turn the bike and applicable batteries off. Return the bikes and any accessories to the place you rented from or call/text to schedule a pick-up. 315-949-1668
